Hi,
I got an invitation tojoin the hi5 site on saturday and did so. For those who haven't heard of it, it's a site where you can add people to your friends network, and once you accept someones' invitation, you are automatically onnected to that person. There are also groups in several different categories. I tried to find a group for the blind there using a key word search, but there doesn't seem to be one. I joined a disabilities group, one in disabled, one chat group, and about 6 groups for people 40 and over. There is also chat, but I don't want to try that until I know whether or not the chat rooms are accessible. Does anyone use this site, and if so, have you tried the chat rooms and are they accessible with jaws? For those interested the url is"
www.hi5.com
Thanks,
wonderwoman

Hi. I'm a member of Hi5 and like it alright. The hard thing is when you want to add someone to your friends' list though, because you have to type in some characters I guess to "make sure you know the person you're adding. I don't see the point of that, but yeah. Other than that, it's cool getting to know who your "friends'" friends are. I want to try the chat rooms but haven't gotten the chance yet, as I want to try it with someone I know to make sure if it is accessible or not. I did read the instructions on how to use it, and it sounds like it would be, but I've never personally tried it yet to know. If we can set up a time, or if anyone else wants to, we can try it sometime because I've been curious about it too.

Hi leiloni,
well we'll have to see if anyone else is interested. it all depends on whether jaws can read the text. I posted to a bunch of groups yesterday, and so far, no one has responded, oh well.

Hi true_7, according to the instructions there, you have to know the name the person goes by on there. I wanted to use wonderwoman on there, but you have to fill in a first and last name, and there isn't an option to use an anonymous screen name. I think there should've been. Thanks for the other 2 sites, I'll go and check them out. The only thing that irritates me, is they keep trying to force the macromediaflash player on you. It might be ok for sighted users if the want to see images as they're downloading, but I can't see, so flash player wouldn't be any use to me. Anyway, thanks again for the other 2 sites.
